Anhedonia is small town almost as notable as nowhere, a town accustomed to tragedy.

When a massive fire threatens to wipe out almost every able bodied man in the place, the last thing they expect is help. Help which comes in the form of a starving homeless man.

His name is Silas Brynmoor and he doesn't  expect a thank you, so he hasn't  a clue what to do when he is gifted a mysterious wife whose mouth is stapled shut.

Her name is Vasilisa and she seems to be full of answers as the piles of bodies in town raise one question after another.
